The Rapture

Belief in "the Rapture" is based on Jesus' promise to return and to take his followers home to heaven to live forever with him

Although the timing of the rapture has been a matter of much debate, the rapture itself is a sure hope for those who trust in God's Word the Bible.
Christ promised to return and take us home to be with him
We "will be caught up … in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air"
— 1 Thess. 4:17 NIV

"This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."—Acts 1:11

Scripture is clear on these points:

In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
— John 14:2-3 New International Version

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
— 1 Thess. 4:16-17 New International Version

"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
"It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
"On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Remember Lot's wife! Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
"I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."
      "Where, Lord?" they asked.
He replied, "Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather."

— Luke 17:26-37 New International Version

"Amen. Come, Lord Jesus."
